Taurus as Corporate Leaders

Do you think Taurus has what it takes to make it in the corporate world with its back-stabbing, power politics and inane bureaucracies?

Could they? yeah. Woudl they want to? I highly doubt it. not unless they had a lot of Scorpio in their charts or something.

My scorp rising gets a kick out of manipulation and subtle politics. But my Taurus sun gets a headache and would rather mash it all down and go home to watch movies (Well, maybe it's pisces moon that wants to watch movies...but Taurus definitely wants to go home).

OK...Lexie...had to peek at your page and see you are pretty in tune with your charts and your sign especially by your description above....
Can you interpret charts? And if so, could you "peek" at mine???

Will do, M. Just keep in mind that I'm actually not super good at astrology stuff. I go by impressions and those usually work out to be trueish.

Interesting topic.. I'd say YES based on your other signs..

With my taurus sun, aries rising, and leo moon.. double fire and earth..
I definitely feel a leadership or "listen to me and what I feel is in your best interest"!!
I have the ideas and can set the foundation for a leadership role, but whether I can carry it out on my own??
I would need to secure a strong and trusting support team to back me up with any agenda.

is that unusual for taurus to be part of a team role? let alone ruling a powerful team?
though I'm concerned I would make a hell of a dictator with all the fire in my rising and moon signs!

Can vs. want seems to be at the center of this. Can we kick ass and not bother taking names? oh yes.

problem is that for the most part, we have better things to do...

And in response to Taurus in the corporate world???
Definately....but we don't want to because we want things done our way...not via a groups decisions way...

I've always found I'm the reluctant leader. I don't want to be in charge if at all possible. I don't want a promotion to management at work, I don't want to be a corporate leader and going down to the photography I eventually want to do I know I'm going to need assistants and such and that thought terrifies me.

There is only two situations where I'd feel comfortable being a leader and thats on a Pirate Ship, or if I had a Ziggurat and millions of slaves and minions. I will accept nothing less. Without absolute power I'm fine just being second to someone doing the real work and not getting the attention ;)

      Cackles

I totally get you! People give me weird looks and wonder why I dont' have ambitions to run huge corporations or control groups of people. It's simple: it doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather read a book, thanks.

Lexie and Rayn: Right there with you! No undying need to be saluted and bowed as I walk into the office. However when people are in turmoil and direction is lacking, would like to step in and have everyone work towards getting back on track. Its like 'trust me, I'm going to try my best to make sure we're safe and steering a true course." But, as you posted, respect for the direction set has be unquestioning once agreed to. No time for vacuous reflection once the course is set. That reflection and consensus is for before. Then its time to get it on!

A bit of personal insight: I've been a corporate consultant for about 5 years and been sick of it. Contemplating setting up my own shop wanted to see what my/our Taurean traits could influence that. Thanks, Your replies are enlightening. Keep 'em coming.

Well, I was once upon a time the leader of a fairly large collection of websites with hundreds of thousands of visitors a day. I led a group of volunteers to help run the site.

Eventually, the drama, ambitiousness of the people I worked with drove me crazy. It was sweet, sweet silence when i finally left that godforsaken site. I felt my inner balance return. You'd seriously think it was like a street gang, the way people in groups behave. Actually plotting your overthrow and crap like that, spreading nasty gossip. Probably part of the reason why I hate working in groups. people in groups turn ugly.

You may not need to quit your consulting job entirely. But if it's possible, cut back on the hours and really, really LAY around and do the things that make you grin. I haven't met a taurus that didn't feel rejuvinated just by spending an afternoon lolling around lush grasses.

we are bossy but not bosses.

I don't think I would have the patience to deal with all the pettiness that goes on into the office. I can be a little if not a lot brash.
I can't sit and analyze every little detail for every procedure...DRIVES ME nuts when someone asks all these questions when the answers do not really matter, bottom line is.. lets ge the job done all ready!

I love solving problems, I do well at that and clients call me back 4 years later to ask me for help when no seems to understand or want to help them in the Co. I work for...
I solve it pretty fast and the client is elated... life goes on.

I too am thinking of a career in photography, but the idea of not having a regular paycheck terrifies me. I am thinking of promoting artists instead... again, will have the money to pay me? I better sell their stuff!

Yes laying in tall grass biting on an apple and reading a book sounds like heaven!
I don't like my grey cubicle anymore...
I need the guts to move on...

Sometimes business life gets to me too. I find that it's about time to take a vacation when that comes around. I'm feeling it now. ;)

I'm thinking that i don't want to spend much money, so I'd like to drive out to the harbor and stay in a hotel for a week. A place with a lot of water and flowers and birds singing...

You should email me all your birth info. It was difficult to read the chart through this site. I can plug the data in myself and interpret at my leisure :)

Hey Lexie? are you on the dry side of Wisconsin?

My daughter emailed me from Moscow Idaho today. Says it is snowing. She is disgusted. It will probably push her to present her thesis real quick and leave the State!

                  This weather is just strange.

Ha, the northern half is dryish, to be sure. We've had two weeks of endless thunderstorms and rain, but we didn't get flooded. I guess we soak up more moisture up here. ;)

I'll be so pissed if that snow dares to venture near my state.

Lexie and Marie - I feel a certain kinship already. Completely empathize with the sacrifices of being a leader, people can be so petty. I still love people, but have to choose the causes I'm willing to hold myself out to sacrifice for the sake of getting the group home.

Working on details is so mind numbing especially when the end result is of no consequence. When there is a concrete problem and it matters, bring it on and we'll take it to the paint and score for/with the team. Am currently in that mode of wanting to something more artsy and like you said the lack of a paycheck is terrifying. So I thought I'd work promoting recording artists, because though I have a decent voice but haven't sung figure there are others who can do...lol. This is sooo weird.
