Stubborn - Truly a trait?

While in hindsight I see that stubborn behavior has wreaked a good deal of havoc on my own happiness, it seems that my stubborn streak is dissipating with patience and life experience.

Do you think we truly are more "bull headed" than the rest?

For example, I find the Scorpios I meet are MUCH more painfully stubborn and unwaivering than I feel myself to be!

Ahhh being the true Taurus that I am...I will admit I am stubborn and if I don't get my own way at first??? In the long run it comes full circle back to "my way"...And the older I get the more stubborn I become because I feel that I didn't get my way in earlier years and now I want it my way or......ELSE!!! Wrath of ~M~ is not a pretty site....

I don't find that I am stubborn. I have a large comfort range of being ok with opinions that are different than mine or whether to go do something. Howwever, I won't change a passionate opinion of something or desire to do something - unless a valid point and reason is given to me as to why I should change my view. If I don't find said point or reason to not be valid enough, I won't budge. In general, I am very much a people pleaser but won't accept mistaking my kindness for pushover or stupidity.

I am extremely stubborn. But I listen to reason. If its something I know I'm right about then there is no swaying me. If it is something esoterical I realize that perception and viewpoint are not absolute truth. When it comes to getting my friends together to do something we usually end up doing something I want to do but I'm able to make it something they want to do as well. There are kinds of parties and kinds of places that I won't go to because I know I won't have a good time there and don't want to be around certain kinds of people. If everyone goes then I stay home and am fine with it. The only exceptions I make is if it is a friends birthday or if someone I haven't seen in a really long time is in town and thats the only place I can see them.

I think that what a lot of people don't see, is that we usaully spend a long time to search out and think over all the options before we come to a decision.

If someone can come up with something that actually sounds better, and reasonable (highly unlikely lol) then we might budge or compromise.

But the good thing is that we are not so mutable nor can be swayed easily by some fast or smooth talker, so we have a good foundation to stand on.

Yes! I'm very stubborn. But in addition to my Taurus sun, I have Scorpio rising, so now you've got me wondering which is the source of my stubborn tendencies. I had always figured it was the Taurus.

The Taurus traits I want are the patience and skill with money - I am sorely lacking in those two.

I am only stubborn in that if I can't get my way, I will find another way to get my way. People get this false idea of us just digging in the exact spot where we are and staying there, not true. Most often, we see a huge rock between us and our goal, we'll backtrack and find a different way around it.

I call myself stubborn to save people time on thinking on the matter, but I don't for a moment believe myself immovable. Unless I truly am right and there is no other acceptable way.

Oh I'm very stubborn. Once I've decided on something it'll take hell freezing over before I change my mind or give up. I'm a Scorpio sun Taurus rising though.
The truth behind scorpios being stupidly stubborn (and we are) is pride. I know I don't like to admit that I didn't get my way or that I was wrong.
When I was a kid my mother wouldn't let us leave the table without finishing our dinner. I hate what she made one night and refuse to eat. The next morning there I sat just glaring away at her when she walked in the kitchen. I'd stayed there all night.
Oh yes stubborn and a little foolish about it too!

Ha - you're my shadow self (I'm Taurus sun/scorp rising), and yep that shooting yourself in the foot to make a point sounds really familiar ... :)
If you have a Gemini moon, then you really are my mirror opposite - I have Sag moon.

Actually I'm a Scorpio moon. Yeah... heavy stuff huh? lol Also my Venus, mercury and jupiter are in scorpio too. OY!!
I think Taurus is stubborn in a more subtle way then Scorpio. My sister is a Taurus and she just kinda kicks back and refuses to do anything when she's being bull headed but no heated scenes or flaring tempers. I love how laid back ya'll are and envy it. There is something so serene about you bulls. It's wonderful.
Now Scorpio stubborness.. different story. In my case anyway. I fight to change others opinions to fit mine. I'll go to the ends of the earth and back just to prove a point. At time it's exhausting and I wonder if it's worth it but I just won't quit until it's my way or everyone involved is throwing their hands up in disgust. SO dramatic! But we don't do anything half way. With a scorpio it's all or nothing and really that can be a great thing or a really bad thing.
I don't think stubborness is nessisarily a bad thing. It shows you're willing to go the distance for something you want or believe it. I really don't understand how people just give in and let things go.

If they were smart enough to use some honey to get you to do things, they would find that they don't meet the Taurus wall. We resond better to gentleness, Force brings out the stubborn side.LOL they can jump and scream and beat on our chest while we sit there patiently, unmoved.
