What day is everyone born on? Personally I'm proud to be a taurus. There is a negative stigma with this sign but i think we all are fantastic! Me=may 16th

Re: Birthday?
Tue, July 17, 2007 - 9:57 AMThere are negative stigmas with all of the signs. And there are many positive aspects of each, too.
April 21st is my birthday (yes, I am one of those...), and I love being a Taurus (as if I had a choice at this point!) because I am solid enough to withstand any chaos flung my way and because I can create comfort and beauty in the most unlikely of places. Also, cows are a lot more intelligent than people give them credit for. -

Re: Birthday?
Tue, July 17, 2007 - 11:37 AMI never heard of any real negative stigmas with any one sign. We all have our weaknesses and some get along better with others, etc. But we all have our good parts. -

Thu, July 19, 2007 - 7:53 AMMay 18 here.
Every sign has a negative stigma. We're just stubborn. That's OK, though because we're usually right. ;)
I'd argue about that stereotype that we're fat and lazy, but I don't want to have to put down my donut to type it all out. -

Re: Birthday?
Thu, July 19, 2007 - 11:08 AMfat and lazy? heeeeyyyy were you peekin at my profile pics? i used to think this was true of our sign but then i met a few skinny tree climb'n ones...what's yer theory on that? -

Fat and lazy!
Thu, July 19, 2007 - 2:29 PM"fat and lazy? heeeeyyyy were you peekin at my profile pics? i used to think this was true of our sign but then i met a few skinny tree climb'n ones...what's yer theory on that?"
My theory on that is that, given a Gemini ascendant, say, or a lot of fire in one's chart, appearances can, of course, be different from the standard stereotype. Usually, you will find a Taurus to have thick, wavy hair, and that even the thin ones are very sturdy. Usually. But not always!
I feel that the word 'lazy' holds a lot of judgment. Most Tauruses I know can be very hard-working individuals, but when it comes to down-time, they are more likely to rest and enjoy a fine meal than to go spelunking or racing dirt bikes, or whatever. Again, there are certainly exceptions.
I, for one, will not ever be confused for a person who works quickly. I just won't. But I might be the one who works steadily and avoids the mistakes that the others have to go back and fix for themselves. Most of my co-workers have told me that they like working with me because I am so calming. I might not be noticed for being a dynamo, but the quality of my work (whatever that might be) has always been important to me. Lazy? On the surface, most likely. I am not particularly driven to dissuade anybody of the notion of my lassitude, but most people figure out after a while that I am actually getting a great deal done. -

Re: Fat and lazy!
Mon, November 12, 2007 - 7:51 AMHelena... I am the exact opposite of what a typical Taurus looks like. And i do not have much fire in my chart. I'm 5'7 115-120lbs... fair skin, naturally dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and my hair isnt thick..its just medium and its straight. Honestly I think genes play a bigger role when it comes to appearance. -

Re: Fat and lazy!
Mon, November 12, 2007 - 10:26 AMAll sorts of things come into play, and I would not deny that genes have a very important role in determining who we are and what we look like. (This is a tribe dedicated to Tauruses, so ostensibly, our piece of the zodiac is the one common point, and the discussions tend to navigate around that one point. It is the nature of such a tribe that one would speak in stereotypes, to which there are always exceptions.)
Genes are as malleable and unpredictable as anything else. My brother is a huge guy, I mean very, very big. I am not a big person. He has a beautiful round head, whereas mine looks like that of Nefertiti. He has blue eyes and a tiny, little up-turned nose, while my eyes are brown, and my nose? I never have quite been able to describe it, but it does have rather a large bump in it. Same contributing DNA, and we really couldn't look any different.
But I think you are right, Morgan, and that genes play a larger role. The sun sign or ascendent, in my opinion, merely add a flavor to what your genes determine.

Fri, July 20, 2007 - 1:14 AMYep, I think the ascendant has a lot to do with the appearance and personality. Oh, and genetics of course...

Mon, November 12, 2007 - 10:08 PMOh, and 125 pounds, 5'6, wood cutter and farmer. Thick dark dreads, but that's probably the Sicilian more than my sun sign. I'm lean and super active, but never really busy. And get this, I HATE NAPS.

correlation to moon/rising sign during the same month..?
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 10:24 PM
May 16th and celebrated the 40th this year!
How's everyone's year thus far?
August tends to be the most transformational month for me the past few yrs.
My moon is in Leo which may play little into it, but always feels like things start picking up speed around this time.
Does anyone see any relation to their moon/rising sign during that same month?
Curious... ~A~

Re: Birthday?
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 8:16 AMI'm a May 17th Gal. It sort of has a really nice ring.
Meh, I don't think there's a huge stigma. But I think people misinterpret what 'stubbornness' means here. Not necessarily being a ****, but having our own agenda, and be willing to pursue it despite obstacles, and we're quite unlikely to be willing to redrum everyone who stands in our way. We'll just walk around them. ;)

And this year I'll be a half century old. Yikes!
But two weeks ago I was going on giant roller coasters,
and i just got a new little blue butterfly tattoo on my ass!
I'm learning age doesn't matter.

Re: Birthday?
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 2:37 PMHappy Birthday to All Taureans.......Mines was on the 21st and my younger brother was on the 28th. I was feeling creative and wrote him a poem...
After I finished the poem, I emailed it to him, although I did agonize over the ending.
<<I hope I am right,
You know sometimes my memory takes flight,
But whatever you decide to do,
I want you have fun too!
I hope you have a great Birthday,
Cause time ain't gonna wait anyway,
So eat, drink, and screw if you are able,
Enjoy your life now, before you're no longer agile.............
I had changed the last line to:
<<Enjoy your life now, before it becomes boring and banal..>>
But it just did not feel right so I ended up with this:
<<Enjoy life now, do it while you are still capable..>>
Although a bit lame, he was tickled by it because I usually forget the date......
